This is mostly just a reminder to myself, but if any of y’all are also drunkarexics™ like me, feel free to follow the advice I’m trying to influence myself with.
• If you know you’re gonna be drinking later, you have to eat something beforehand. Eat lots of veggies and/or fruits, something that’ll nourish your body without being heavy on it. Also, drinking on an empty stomach is awful for you, and you will feel awful doing it too.
• If you’re anything like me, while you’re under the influence, you get drunken munchies. Often times late at night too, which is awful. It may sound dumb, but if you’re simply craving and you’re not actually hungry, drink more. Take another shot over the unnecessary junk food. I’m telling you, when I first start drinking, all I wanna do is eat, but after a while, I hit a certain stage in my drunken state where I’m completely fine and nothing tempts me at all. Just hang in there and that munchie craving should go away.
• Also, when you’re drinking, my suggestion is to take shots over mixed drinks. Shots are usually significantly less calories and will get you drunk faster. I almost never have mixed drinks, and wine I only have once in a blue moon. Also, never drink beer. So much unnecessary sugars in that shit.
• And if you happen to be drunk and hungry, you don’t have to have pizza just because your friends are ordering it. Most restaurants and deliveries have salad options, so go for that instead. The dressings can have a high calorie content, so try to eat it without. If you’re drunk enough, your taste buds won’t be working as well as they normally do, so anything will taste good to you in that moment (or at least, that’s been my experience). Or, if possible, plan ahead of time! Bring your own healthy snacks, go to a grocery store beforehand and buy a fruit platter! Treat yourself to natural foods, you’ll thank yourself later!
• This might be just a me thing, I’m not sure, but I find myself to be a more ‘active’ drunk, as in, I’m moving constantly. I only know this because the people around me are always reminding me that I never sit still. And even if you’re not standing around the whole time like I do, you’re most likely fidgeting more than usual, or laughing a lot. Just, something that’s more active than you normally are when you’re chilling out sober. I guarantee you you’re burning more calories than you think you are.
So please, relax and have a good time! Don’t let your ED get in the way of you enjoying your time with your friends or whatever you’re doing. These are just my suggestions, but either way, stay safe no matter what! ❤️
